NEW YORK (MetaNews) — An AP-NORC poll recently indicated that many demographics supporting Donald Trump during his presidential campaign are increasingly dissatisfied with his performance in office. The survey conducted among over 2,500 U.S. adults shows a significant decline in approval ratings from essential voter groups, especially Hispanic adults, younger voters, and men.
The poll, taken from April 16-20, found that Trump's approval among Hispanic adults has plummeted by 16 percentage points since 2025, with only 25% expressing approval for his handling of his presidential duties. This trend mirrors similar dissatisfaction among younger adults, with approval ratings dropping to 28% among those under 45, a significant decline from past figures. Additionally, men’s approval saw a decrease from 47% to 38% since the start of his second term, revealing a crucial shift in voter sentiment.
As economic conditions worsen due to external factors such as the Iran war, many Americans are unsatisfied with Trump's handling of critical issues like the cost of living, with approval ratings among Hispanic adults on economic matters standing at a dismal 20%. The lack of approval extends to Trumps' immigration policies, which are particularly unpopular among younger Hispanics.
Despite these frustrations, Trump's loyal core of MAGA supporters remains strong, with nearly 90% expressing approval for his stance on various issues, including his approach to Iran. However, a noticeable divide persists within the Republican Party, with a significant number of younger voters voicing discontent.
The AP-NORC survey's margin of error stands at 2.6 percentage points, shedding light on the evolving relationship between Trump and critical voting blocs as his presidency continues.
