Four dead and several injured after massive Russian strikes across Ukraine
At least four people have been killed and several others wounded in an overnight Russian missile and drone assault across Ukraine, local officials said early Tuesday. The attacks hit key cities, including Dnipro, Kharkiv and Kyiv.
In Dnipro, a 73‑year‑old woman and three others lost their lives, while five people were taken to hospitals with injuries. Kharkiv reported eight people injured, and Kyiv accounted for four injured, officials added.
Missiles struck Kyiv, causing large plumes of smoke to rise from the city centre. Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents to seek shelter, noting “Explosions in the city. Air defence forces are working! Stay in shelters!” and said two high‑rise apartment buildings were hit with fears people could be trapped.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had on Monday issued a warning about a possible massive Russian strike, urging citizens to pay careful attention to air‑raid alerts. He reiterated, “Intelligence warnings regarding Russian strikes remain in effect. A massive strike is possible; they have prepared one.”
