Police are searching for a gunman who shot dead two students and injured nine others at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
The attacker was described as a man dressed all in black who fled on foot, prompting a shelter-in-place warning in the surrounding area of the prestigious university.

The gunman opened fire at around 4 PM local time in the Holley engineering building, where final exams were being conducted. Eyewitnesses reported that the shooter entered yelling and began shooting, causing panic among students.
