Donald Trump is the only world leader capable of stopping Vladimir Putin from threatening Europe, according to Poland's President Karol Nawrocki.
In an interview with Radio 4's Today programme, he asserted that the Russian leader cannot be trusted and emphasized the need for Europe to fully support Trump’s efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine.
President Nawrocki, a known supporter of Trump, expressed concern over Russian provocations, claiming only Trump could 'solve this problem' amid increasing threats to Poland and central and eastern Europe.
Citing an extensive drone incursion last September, Nawrocki described Russia as testing Poland’s defenses, which he classified as an extraordinary situation, indicating ongoing security challenges for NATO.
He extended gratitude to Britain for deploying RAF Typhoon jets to bolster Polish defenses. Nawrocki declared that Poland has been in a hybrid conflict with Russia since 2021, combating drone threats and disinformation.
Nawrocki also commented on Europe’s regional security dynamics, emphasizing that European leaders should focus on resilience rather than ideological issues. He encouraged cooperation and unity to bolster both economic and military security.
Reflecting on bilateral relations, he reiterated the importance of the UK, especially with one million Poles living there, and praised British troops stationed in Poland as crucial for NATO's eastern flank security.
