**Arrest Made Following Fires Linked to Prime Minister Starmer's Properties**
A 21-year-old suspect has been detained after a series of suspicious fires, including one at Keir Starmer's former residence.
A 21-year-old man was arrested by London's Metropolitan Police early Tuesday in connection with three suspicious fires, one of which occurred at a house owned by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The suspect is being held on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and is currently in custody.
The incident at the prime minister's property took place on Monday, prompting counter-terrorism police to step in and take over the investigation. This residence is where Starmer lived prior to his victory in last year’s general election, after which he moved to the official prime ministerial abode at 10 Downing Street.
In addition to the fire at Starmer's home, authorities are investigating a related car fire from May 8 that occurred on the same street, as well as a small blaze that broke out on Sunday at the entrance of an apartment building in Islington, which is also associated with Starmer.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported from these incidents, although the entrance to Starmer's former home sustained considerable damage, and images in the media showed a charred and blackened doorway. The Metropolitan Police released a statement indicating that due to the high-profile nature of the case, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are overseeing the investigation, which is still unfolding as they work to determine the cause.
This incident is being marked as a developing story, with updates anticipated as further information comes to light.
