“We must translate the potential of the space economy into tangible economic benefits for Thailand,” Sarun Charoensuwan told the audience during his speech.
His remarks echoed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ own emphasis on “science, research, and innovation diplomacy” as a pathway to enhance Thailand’s technological capabilities and ensure the country’s participation in the global space value chain.
Over 50 forum sessions took place during the expo, featuring more than 100 world‑class space experts. Topics ranged from the global space economy and lunar exploration to satellite engineering, providing a platform for business networking, investment discussions and technical knowledge exchange.
Business‑matching activities were a central component of the expo, allowing Thai component manufacturers to meet potential partners from across the ASEAN region and other markets. The organizers highlighted these activities as a key mechanism for boosting space‑related investment and raising Thailand’s competitiveness on the international stage.
Looked from a regional perspective, the event was positioned as a milestone for ASEAN cooperation in space. Sarun Charoensuwan urged both regional and global stakeholders to collaborate on shared challenges, emphasizing that “the peaceful, safe and sustainable use of outer space” requires joint efforts from all member states.
As the expo closed on 31 October, attendees reflected on the growing opportunity for Thai businesses to contribute to the global space economy while broadening technical knowledge among local industry players and experts.
