MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kyle Wagner, a 37-year-old Minneapolis man, was arrested on Thursday on charges related to cyberstalking and threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.

Wagner faces accusations of using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to encourage violence against federal agents, referring to them as 'gestapo' and 'murderers.' The charges came to light after a complaint was filed and subsequently unsealed in Detroit, Michigan.

Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated that Wagner had not only doxxed law enforcement officers but had also expressed affiliation with antifa, calling for violent confrontations, and stating he was 'coming for' ICE.

Federal authorities revealed that around 700 federal officers were recently withdrawn from Minnesota, a move linked to ongoing tensions between federal enforcement and local protesters, which Wagner allegedly exacerbated with his online provocations.

Prosecutors indicated that they would soon determine if they would seek an indictment, which is necessary for the case to proceed to trial.

The implications of Wagner's actions come at a time when the immigration debate in the U.S. is especially charged, raising concerns regarding the safety of federal officers amidst growing hostility.
