Late on Monday Israeli air strikes killed 11 residents of Kfar Rumman, a village in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese state media. Nine civilians were killed when a three‑storey residential building was destroyed, while a second strike on a vehicle claimed the lives of two paramedics. The Israeli military said it was investigating the reports. This attack comes after a series of retaliatory strikes that killed seven people the previous week, following alleged drone attacks by Hezbollah on Israeli troops in occupied areas. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the new escalation threatens the ceasefire agreed in June, heightening concerns for regional stability.

An Israeli strike late on Monday killed 11 residents of Kfar Rumman, a village in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese state media.

Nine civilians were killed when a three‑storey residential building was destroyed shortly after midnight, while a second strike on a vehicle claimed the lives of two paramedics, the National News Agency reported.

The Israeli military said it was looking into the reports.

Earlier this week, Israeli strikes that killed seven people in southern Lebanon were said to be in retaliation for alleged drone attacks by Hezbollah on Israeli troops in occupied areas.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun warned that the new escalation poses a "dangerous escalation" that jeopardises the US‑brokered ceasefire agreed in June, aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
