MIAMI (AP) — A weather system, anticipated to become Tropical Storm Imelda, is currently disrupting the Bahamas and neighboring islands. As it heads towards South Carolina, hurricane alerts are being raised. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster emphasized the potential dangers of the approaching storm, advocating for vigilance among residents.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Humberto has slightly weakened, remaining a strong Category 4 storm that poses a threat to Bermuda. The National Hurricane Center reports Humberto's maximum sustained winds at 155 mph, leading to possible tropical storm watches and hazardous swells expected along the U.S. east coast on Monday.

Tropical Depression Nine is generating intense rainfall and flash flooding risks in Cuba and the Bahamas, prompting authorities to issue warnings. In response, the Bahamas' Department of Meteorology has urged residents in vulnerable areas to finalize preparations for storm conditions. With the potential for damaging winds and flooding, authorities are mobilizing search and rescue teams to mitigate impacts.

As Narda, now a tropical storm in the Pacific, continues its course away from Mexico, it is also raising concerns about dangerous surf conditions along the coast.

With hurricane season in full swing, the focus remains on preparedness and response as the storms continue to develop.
