Among those affected is Elise Stefanik, the New York Republican chosen as the US ambassador to the United Nations. She reported that her family home was specifically targeted, disclosing that she learned of the threat while traveling with her family from Washington to New York for the Thanksgiving holiday.

In a similar vein, Howard Lutnick, Trump’s nominee for commerce secretary, also had his home targeted with bomb threats, as confirmed by local police to CBS, a partner of the BBC in the US.

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, who was recently in the run for the attorney general post but has since stepped back, discovered that a bomb threat had been directed toward his former residence in Niceville, Florida. The sheriff's office reported, however, that no suspicious devices were located, ensuring that both his family and home were safe.

Additionally, Lee Zeldin, nominated to head the Environmental Protection Agency, confirmed receiving a serious threat of a "pipe bomb," which bore a "pro-Palestinian themed message." He revealed that although he and his family were away from home, they remain grateful for the quick response by local law enforcement.

Other high-profile nominees, including John Ratcliffe for CIA director and Pete Hegseth for defense secretary, were also reported to be part of this alarming wave of threats, which has prompted urgent investigations by authorities. The FBI notes that it is actively working with local police to address and mitigate these threats effectively.
