Security breach raises concerns as intruders steal vehicles from the home of Prince William and family.
Intruders scaled a fence at Shaw Farm, a working farm on the Windsor Castle estate, and broke into a farm building, making off with a black Isuzu pickup and a red quad bike. This incident occurred shortly before midnight on October 13, while Prince William, Catherine, and their children were reportedly at home. The family lives at Adelaide Cottage, just minutes from where the theft took place.
According to Thames Valley Police, while the burglary was confirmed, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing. The thieves used the stolen pickup, which had been stored in a barn, to crash through a farm gate as they fled the scene. Although King Charles III and Queen Camilla often visit the estate, they were not present during the incident.
Authorities have noted that the royal family has their own security personnel protecting them at Adelaide Cottage, and there is no indication that they were in any direct danger during the burglary. Both Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have refrained from commenting on the breach, in line with their established policy on security matters.
As discussions continue regarding the implications of this event, it raises questions about the effectiveness of security around high-profile locations such as Windsor Castle, one of the most significant sites for the British monarchy.
