Warning: Contains disturbing content and graphic descriptions of sexual acts

A man running a sex ring operating out of Dubai's most glamorous neighbourhoods, and exploiting vulnerable women, has been identified by a BBC investigation.

Charles Mwesigwa, who claims to be a former London bus driver, disclosed to an undercover reporter that he could provide women for sex parties starting at $1,000, with shocking revelations about the degrading acts some clients requested.

For years, rumors of wild sex parties in the UAE have circulated online, amplified by the viral hashtag #Dubaiportapotty. Investigations by the BBC World Service suggest that the reality is even more harrowing than the speculations surrounding it.

Young Ugandan women reported being misled into believing they would find regular jobs in supermarkets or hotels, ending up in Mr. Mwesigwa's scheme instead. One alleged victim recounted disgustingly violent acts requested by clients, while others shared their stories of extreme debt accumulation due to hidden fees imposed by Mwesigwa, often exceeding $27,000.

Two women linked to Mwesigwa have mysteriously died after falls from high-rise apartments, raising questions about the investigation connected to their circumstances. Critics, including friends and family of the deceased, allege that authorities have inadequately addressed these cases.

Our investigation delved deep, utilizing open-source intelligence and undercover methods to expose the grim underbelly of an operation that preys on the vulnerable. Mwesigwa brazenly stated his business model caters to “open-minded” women, further normalizing exploitation within an already troubling framework.

Despite the horrors they faced, women like Mia and Lexi, who eventually escaped, now dedicate their efforts to helping others trapped in similar situations.

The narrative also portrays a wider societal issue where migration pathways from Uganda to the Gulf promise economic opportunities, yet conceal the perils of exploitative practices lurking beneath the surface.

"We are all looking at Monica's death," a relative lamented, signaling a call to action for systemic change and protection for those still ensnared in the dark world of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in Dubai.

Charles Mwesigwa has categorically denied any wrongdoing, labeling all allegations as false, deflecting responsibility onto the authorities for not pursuing a thorough investigation.
