French authorities are investigating a chilling case after four bodies were discovered in the River Seine near Choisy-le-Roi, a suburb southeast of Paris. The investigation began on August 13, when a passer-by reported seeing a body near a bridge. Subsequent searches by law enforcement uncovered three more bodies in close proximity.
According to prosecutors, one of the victims had been strangled, while another displayed signs of violent injuries. Currently, a man is being held in custody in Paris as detectives delve into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. However, police have refrained from disclosing details about the suspect or the number of murders under investigation.
The first victim, a 40-year-old local man, had only recently entered the water, whereas the other three bodies were in a significantly advanced state of decomposition. Prosecutors noted that, at this stage of the investigation, no evidence suggests a direct connection between the victims. It is possible that they were submerged upstream at different locations and carried downstream by the current before reaching the site near the Choisy bridge.
