The US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) has issued a critical warning for consumers to examine their Celsius energy drink cans following an accidental mix-up that resulted in some being filled with vodka. The affected product is the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition of Celsius.

The error occurred when a packaging supplier inadvertently shipped empty Celsius cans to the vodka seltzer firm High Noon, which then filled them with alcoholic content. As a precaution, High Noon has also recalled certain batches of its Beach Variety packs that were manufactured on the same production line, although no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported from consuming the contaminated products, according to the USFDA.

The recall affects two specific production lots of Celsius drinks and High Noon packs, which have been detailed on the USFDA’s official website. The affected products are believed to have been distributed to retailers across several states, including Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin, between July 21 and July 23.

For consumers checking their Celsius cans, the retail code UPC is 889392001341, along with the lot codes found lasered on the bottom of the cans, specifically L CCB 02JL25 2:55 to L CCB 02JL25 3:11. The High Noon Beach Variety packs that are affected include the retail code UPC 085000040065 and the following lot codes: L CCC 17JL25 14:00 to L CCC 17JL25 23:59 and L CCC 18JL25 00:00 to L CCC 18JL25 03:00.

The USFDA strongly advises consumers to dispose of the Celsius Astro Vibe energy drink cans with the listed lot codes and not to ingest the contents. It's important to note that High Noon Beach Variety packs with other lot codes are not implicated in this recall and remain safe for consumption.
