Billy Joel, the iconic singer-songwriter, is updating fans on his health two months after disclosing his diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). On Bill Maher's Club Random podcast, the five-time Grammy Award winner shared that while he is still addressing health issues related to the disorder, he is maintaining a positive outlook.

"I feel good. They keep referring to what I have as a brain disorder, so it sounds a lot worse than what I'm feeling," said Joel, who confirmed he has been experiencing balance difficulties due to the condition.

Earlier this year, Joel was compelled to cancel several concert dates after doctors informed him that his condition had worsened following recent performances. NPH is a rare and often misunderstood ailment that typically impacts individuals over 60, causing fluid accumulation in the brain that can influence mobility, hearing, and vision.

In a heartfelt statement on his Instagram, Joel mentioned he is undertaking "specific" physical therapy to improve his condition and is prioritizing his health. His wife, Alexis, also expressed gratitude for the comprehensive care and swift diagnosis, sharing their hope for his recovery.

As a result of his diagnosis, Joel has had to cancel 17 scheduled performances across North America and Europe for 2025 and 2026, including major shows in Edinburgh and Liverpool.

Known for timeless hits like "Piano Man" and "Uptown Girl," Joel has been an active performer, recently wrapping up a record-setting decade-long residency at Madison Square Garden last year. His last performance saw him falling offstage after energizing the crowd with a microphone throw, leading to the announcement of his tour postponement due to medical advice regarding his recovery from surgery.

Despite these setbacks, Joel remains hopeful and dedicated to getting back on stage when he can.
