Ukrainian forces have launched a significant offensive in the Kursk region of Russia, signaling a renewed attempt to gain the upper hand amidst escalating conflicts in eastern Ukraine.

Ukrainian forces initiated a fresh offensive in the Kursk region of Russia on Sunday, as reported by both Ukrainian and Russian officials. This move seems aimed at swapping momentum while they combat ongoing Russian assaults throughout eastern Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Ukrainian military action featured a substantial deployment, including tanks, mine-clearing equipment, and at least twelve armored vehicles, asserting they successfully fended off the attack.

The Kursk region gained notoriety last summer when Ukrainian forces made a surprise incursion, seizing roughly 500 square miles of territory, a portion of which Russia is gradually reclaiming.
