On Friday, October 30, Israeli forces targeted the homes of Hamoudeh and Ahmed al‑Jaabari in Hebron, blowing them up after the men were accused of killing two Israeli soldiers in a shooting attack that occurred on Oct. 23.
The demolitions were carried out by engineering units in the Deir Baha area, west of Hebron, following orders from Israeli forces that had mobilized reinforcements to the area earlier in the day.
Hebron Governorate officials said the operation had already displaced 537 families, or 3,361 people, from the al‑Jilda and Deir Baha neighborhoods since it began.
The Israeli military released a statement saying it would "continue to operate proactively and offensively" to thwart attacks in the West Bank and to protect residents in the area.
According to Palestinian security sources, the two men were killed by Israeli forces after they were alleged to have carried out a shooting attack that killed two Israeli soldiers.
Hebron Governorate Emergency Committee representatives reported that the operation had escalated into a series of demolitions, forcing many families to leave their homes in the affected neighborhoods.
The Israeli forces launched the operation hours after the Oct. 23 attack, with a vow to displace residents and carry out demolitions as part of a broader campaign in the southern West Bank.
