At least 30 people have been injured following a Russian drone strike on a railway station in north-east Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
In a post on X, he stated that preliminary reports indicated train staff and passengers were present at the site in the city of Shostka, located in the Sumy region.
Emergency services are on the scene helping those affected, with further details on the injuries still being assessed.
Zelensky also shared a video that shows a damaged train carriage engulfed in flames.
He remarked, The Russians could not have been unaware that they were targeting civilians. This is terrorism, which the world has no right to ignore. He further emphasized: Every day Russia takes people's lives. And only strength can make them stop.
The Ukrainian leader called for more decisive action from the West, asserting that it is time to convert the strong statements made by Europe and America into tangible efforts.
As tensions escalate, the world watches closely, hoping for a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
