On Tuesday, 3 November 2026, Abu Dhabi‑based ADNOC Gas plc and its subsidiaries announced a five‑year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with France‑based TotalEnergies, committing to deliver up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG. The deal, signed in front of the ADNOC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, is slated to start deliveries in 2026 and marked a significant milestone for both companies amid a rapidly growing global LNG market.
ADNOC Gas highlighted that the agreement reflects the long‑standing partnership between the two operators and underscores the reliability of ADNOC’s logistics network and its integrated LNG marketing platform. The platform, jointly run by ADNOC Gas and XRG, combines marketing activities with ADNOC Trading’s trading capabilities, allowing the group to reach a broader clientele and deliver more flexible, customer‑focused solutions.
Fatema Al Nuaimi, Chief Executive Officer of ADNOC Gas, said,
"Global demand for LNG continues to grow, and ADNOC Gas is well positioned to capture that opportunity. This agreement reflects the strength of our LNG business, the competitiveness of our supply offering and our ability to secure long‑term partnerships that support growth, enhance resilience and create lasting value for shareholders."
Al Nuaimi emphasized that the agreement supports ADNOC’s goal of reaching 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030 and positions the Emirate as a global energy trading hub.
For TotalEnergies, the new supply comes after the conclusion of its previous long‑term partnership with the Abu Dhabi gas operator. Stéphane Michel, President of Gas, Renewables & Power at TotalEnergies, noted,
"The signing of this agreement with ADNOC Gas marks another important milestone in our long‑standing partnership and highlights our commitment to deepening our cooperation for the long term. Thanks to its perfect location between Europe and Asia, this new supply will enable TotalEnergies to confirm its position as one of the main LNG portfolio suppliers."
The press release from TotalEnergies’ newsroom confirmed the volume commitment, stating that ADNOC Gas will supply a total of up to 1.6 million tonnes of LNG, with the first deliveries expected as early as 2026. The agreement is integrated into TotalEnergies’ broader strategy to diversify its LNG portfolio and leverage Abu Dhabi’s strategic geographic location to serve markets on both sides of the Mediterranean.
In addition to the supply agreement, ADNOC Gas is advancing the integration of Ruwais LNG, which is projected to significantly increase the group’s LNG production capacity. By combining Ruwais’ output with the new Five‑Year pipeline, ADNOC aims to enhance its ability to meet growing demand while expanding its presence in key global markets.
As the LNG market continues to expand, the ADNOC–TotalEnergies partnership exemplifies how two leading global players can combine resources and expertise to deliver reliable supply. The five‑year contract not only secures a stable flow of LNG for TotalEnergies but also reinforces ADNOC’s emerging position as one of the world’s foremost LNG suppliers.
