On Sunday, 2 November 2026, Acting Director General of the General Directorate of Passports Major General Dr. Saleh Al‑Murabba inspected the status‑correction center at the Al‑Ha’ir administrative center in the Riyadh Region, a facility dedicated to assisting Yemeni nationals with irregular residency status.
The center is part of an initiative that seeks to streamline procedures for Yemenis who are in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with irregular status as they regularize their residency in accordance with regulations. Attendance at the inspection underscored the Directorate’s commitment to improving these services.
Major General Al‑Murabba visited the site and addressed the passport staff, urging them to redouble efforts to make the paperwork and processing steps smoother and more efficient for the beneficiaries.
He specifically encouraged the use of digital services to accelerate the review and approval process, noting that such platforms could reduce waiting times and administrative burden for both staff and Yemeni nationals.
In addition to calling for streamlined procedures, Al‑Murabba highlighted the importance of expanding similar centers throughout Saudi Arabia, so that Yemeni nationals across the country have more convenient access to assistance with their residency regularization.
The directive director general emphasized that future centers should maintain the same digital focus and procedural simplification that was the focus of the inspection in Riyadh.
For many Yemeni nationals, irregular status in Saudi Arabia has been a long‑standing issue, and the status‑correction center is a key resource in helping them navigate the complex legal requirements required to regularize their residency.
By addressing both efficiency and accessibility, the inspection reinforced the Saudi Ministry of Interior’s broader goal of improving services for expatriates and securing compliance with the Kingdom’s immigration regulations.
Major General Al‑Murabba concluded his visit by reaffirming the Directorate’s dedication to advancing digital solutions and expanding the network of correction centers as it continues to serve Yemeni nationals across Saudi Arabia.
