Ukrainian woman identified as suspect in Monaco parcel bomb

Interpol has issued a Red Notice against 39‑year‑old Anastasiia Berezovska, who is alleged to have planted an explosive parcel that went off in the entrance hall of a Monaco apartment building on 29 June. The blast injured a sanctioned Ukrainian oligarch, his partner and a 13‑year‑old boy who were entering the building at the time.

Monaco’s deputy public prosecutor, Morgan Raymond, said Berezovska was "disguised as a man" and appeared to have assisted accomplices. She was seen on CCTV wearing a dark bucket hat before leaving the scene on foot. An investigation now tracks her movements, with reports that she travelled in a hire car to Italy and then Germany.

Interpol’s photo shows Berezovska with shoulder‑length dark hair and a tattoo that may depict a snake on her right arm. She faces charges of attempted murder, planting an explosive device with malicious intent and criminal conspiracy.

Hessian police in the Main‑Taunus district seized a rented apartment older woman’s used vehicle and secured evidence to hand over to Monegasque investigators. A special‑forces unit in Germany confirmed that the suspect remains at large and an international arrest warrant has been issued.

Prince Albert II of Monaco called the incident a "heinous crime" and underscored the collaborative effort between Monaco and French police in identifying the attacker swiftly. The authorities say the attack was aimed at Vadym Yermolaiev, a 58‑year‑old real‑estate developer who was announced as one of Ukraine’s wealthiest in 2020 and subject to sanctions.

The three victims – the oligarch, his partner and a 13‑year‑old boy – were taken to Nice University Hospital and Lenval children’s hospital for treatment. While the adults’ conditions have stabilised, the woman’s medical status remains uncertain.

Investigators are still searching for other people who may have assisted Berezovska. As the hunt continues, authorities ask anyone with information to contact Interpol or local police.
