Attorneys for Sean Diddy Combs have notified a US federal court of their plans to appeal the rap mogul's conviction and 50-month prison sentence.
They filed a notice of appeal on Monday and are expected to submit the formal documents soon.
Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted on two other charges of sex trafficking and racketeering.
Judge Arun Subramanian stated that a substantial sentence was necessary to send a message that abuse of women 'is met with real accountability'.
He also issued Combs a $500,000 (£374,000) fine and five years of probation.
During his trial, prosecutors sought over 11 years in prison, while Combs requested a 14-month sentence, citing his time spent in jail awaiting trial. At the sentencing hearing in September, Combs acknowledged, My actions were disgusting, shameful, and sick.
He admitted to getting lost in excess and ego, pleading for the judge's mercy and apologizing to women who testified against him.
Legal representatives of Combs indicated their intention to appeal the conviction and the medication of his penalty.
Combs was arrested in September 2024, and his nearly two-month trial this summer received widespread media attention. Prosecutors alleged that he exploited his influential position in the music industry to run a sex trafficking operation and coerced his partners into engaging in sex acts with male escorts.
The case prominently featured his relationship with singer Cassandra Ventura, who accused Combs of physical abuse and coercion. Another witness, named Jane, reported feeling pressured to participate in such activities despite illness.
A jury found Combs not guilty of the two most serious charges – sex trafficking and racketeering, while convicting him on charges related to transportation for prostitution.
