The Aalborg Zoo in Denmark has launched an unusual campaign, inviting pet owners to donate healthy unwanted animals to help supply food for its carnivorous residents. The zoo is specifically looking for animals such as live chickens, rabbits, and guinea pigs, which are fed to animals like lions, tigers, and Eurasian lynx. Pets can be dropped off on weekdays, and horse owners who meet certain criteria may receive tax deductions. According to the zoo’s deputy director, this practice aims at mimicking natural food sources for the animals.
