Football star Divine Lunga survives gun attack in Johannesburg
Zimbabwe’s football hero Divine Lunga escaped injury after a mysterious gunman fired at his car while it was travelling through Johannesburg’s Hillbrow suburb.

Police say the shooter apparently mistook Lunga for a police officer. According to local reports, Lunga was on his way with his younger brother to a church when the attack began.
Lunga, who boasts a career with Zimbabwe’s national team and South African club Mamelodi Sundowns, emerged unscathed. Police spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed an attempted murder investigation with no arrests to date.
Incidents like these highlight South Africa’s pressing crime issues and its place among the world’s highest murder rates.
