The FBI has released the first physical description of the man believed to have kidnapped Nancy Guthrie, the mother of US news anchor Savannah Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie, 84, disappeared in the middle of the night from her Tucson, Arizona home and was last seen two weeks ago. Authorities believe she was taken against her will. The FBI has analyzed footage from a doorbell camera outside her home and believes she was kidnapped by a male who stands between 5ft 9in (175cm) and 5ft 10in tall with an average build. This identification marks the first time the individual in the video has been officially recognized as a suspect in the widely publicized case. In its latest statement, the FBI confirmed the findings after conducting a forensic analysis. They highlighted the backpack worn by the suspect in the footage, marking it as a 25-litre Ozark Trail Hiker Pack. During the ongoing search for Guthrie, a pair of black gloves were also discovered, as reported by CBS. Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31 when family members dropped her off at home. Her absence raised concern among church members who alerted her family. Officials have indicated her health might be deteriorating without necessary medication, expressing that she is 'not in good physical health,' but has no reported cognitive issues. Since February 1, the FBI has received over 13,000 tips regarding the case, offering increasing rewards for helpful information from the public, which has now surged to $100,000. The tension escalated when a man was detained this week in connection with the investigation, though he was later released citing unawareness of who Nancy Guthrie is. Meanwhile, Savannah and her siblings continue to use social media to appeal to the public for assistance, holding onto the hope that their mother is still alive and expressing a willingness to pay for her safe return.
