Ella Langley apologised to her fans, describing her decision as “incredibly difficult”.

US country music star Ella Langley has said she had to cancel her sold‑out concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday night, due to a serious security threat.

The singer made what she called the "incredibly difficult" decision around two hours before the show at the 19,000‑seater arena was due to start.

In a post on Instagram, the 27‑year‑old said the threat involved the safety of her fans, the venue staff and her team.

Captain Richard Meulenberg from Tulsa Police said a person had called, saying "great harm" would be done at the event with "shots fired and bombs." The police department had already inspected the BOK Center several times and found no credible threat.

After the call, officers with sniffer dogs conducted another sweep of the arena, but "no credible threat" was located, Meulenberg added, noting that the call had disrupted the event for thousands of fans.

Langley also apologised to her audience and said details about ticket refunds would be shared as soon as possible.

The BOK Center released a statement declaring that "the safety and well‑being of everyone involved is our absolute priority" and that the show could not proceed.

Last month, Langley’s smash hit "Choosin' Texas" topped the US charts, surpassing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" to become the longest‑running number one single in chart history. The success helped her win the Academy of Country Music Awards in May.
