In a startling incident in Buenos Aires, Argentina, a fire broke out in a towering luxury residential building located in the prestigious Puerto Madero neighborhood. Emergency services confirmed the swift evacuation of over 100 people amid the chaos. Fortunately, 40 individuals were treated for smoke inhalation, with some taken to hospitals, but there are no reported fatalities and all residents have been declared safe.

Firefighters were quick to respond, and although the cause of the fire remains undetermined, it was reported that flames had spread to at least the 15th floor of the 50-story building. Alberto Crescenti, head of Buenos Aires emergency services, emphasized the efficiency of the evacuation process, which helped mitigate risks for residents. "Luckily, it was a very fast evacuation, meaning people are not at risk," he stated.

The incident prompted dramatic scenes, with broken glass tumbling from the windows of the high-rise as concerned onlookers gathered outside. Ornella Gril, a resident who descended quickly upon hearing the fire alarm, shared her relief at escaping unharmed.

Former professional footballer, Mariano Pavone, who resides in the building, recounted the frightening moment he noticed smoke. He rushed downstairs with his young son and pet dog, expressing gratitude that his apartment was intact and hoping for the safety of his neighbors. "I'm anxious for my neighbours. Luckily it was just a scare," he told Noticias Argentinas.
