The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that fire and rescue units are actively working to locate those who were aboard the train at the time of the incident. Local governor Alexander Bogomaz reported on Telegram about the seven fatalities, emphasizing that two people, one of whom is a child, are suffering from serious injuries. All injured individuals have been transported to medical facilities within the Bryansk region.
Moscow's interregional transport prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collapse. The Moscow Railway claimed the incident was due to "illegal interference in transport operations." Additional emergency personnel, rescue equipment, and lighting towers for nighttime operations have been dispatched to the area to assist in ongoing rescue efforts.
