Hongkongers Squawk-Off in First Ever Bird Call Contest
The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society hosted its first-ever bird call contest on Saturday, aimed at promoting conservation awareness. The event drew in passionate bird lovers who dressed up in vibrant attire to mimic the rhythmic calls of various bird species.
Participants demonstrated their vocal talents, imitating birds such as the Koel, the Asian barred owlet, and the Chestnut-winged cockatoo. The contest highlighted the significance of biodiversity in Hong Kong, which boasts over 580 recorded species of birds.
The prestigious top prize was awarded to Bob Chan for his outstanding impression of the Eurasian tree sparrow, further engaging the audience in an appreciation for bird life and conservation efforts.
