Stars gathered in Los Angeles for an electrifying night at the FireAid concert, aimed at supporting wildfire relief efforts after the city faced its largest fires in history. The star-studded event featured performances from over 20 artists, spanning multiple genres and taking place at the Kia Forum and Intuit Dome.

Actor Billy Crystal opened the evening with heartfelt remarks, donning the same clothes he wore during his escape from the devastating Pacific Palisades fire. “Tonight is about the people who were affected by these fires, and I was one of them,” he shared, drawing attention to the personal impact of the tragedy.

The concert commenced with a vibrant display of Los Angeles spirit, as major artists showcased their talents while rallying support for the local community. Katy Perry ignited the crowd with her iconic anthem “California Gurls,” proudly waving the state flag. Dr. Dre, performing his classic “California Love,” expressed his gratitude to the first responders and those fighting the fires.

Billie Eilish performed alongside Green Day, delivering an energetic rendition of "Last Night on Earth." Eilish, alongside her brother Finneas, captivated audiences with tracks such as "Wildflower" and "Birds of a Feather." Additionally, legendary musician Stevie Nicks dedicated her poignant performance of "Landslide" to the firefighters who went above and beyond to save her home during the blaze.

The concert also saw appearances from notable stars including Alanis Morissette, who came dressed in an "I Love LA" tee, and Rod Stewart. The former entertained the audience with his beloved hits while introducing the audience to a local firefighter who had lost everything in the fires, further emphasizing the night's focus on community support.

Returning to the stage was Joni Mitchell, whose rare appearance and haunting performance of "Both Sides Now" left a powerful impression. Her words resonated with the audience, reinforcing both loss and resilience in a city trying to heal.

Closing out the night, Lady Gaga delivered a heartfelt rendition of her hit "Shallow," reflecting the night’s theme of hope and solidarity. The concert drew shows of celebrity support, with former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff spotted in attendance.

As audiences watched and donated from home, funds collected during the event aimed not only at immediate relief but also toward rebuilding and long-term fire prevention initiatives. The concert’s call to action saw significant generosity, including a $1 million contribution from the band U2.

The December wildfires had devastating effects, claiming at least 29 lives and obliterating over 16,000 homes and businesses. Following the show, viewers were encouraged to contribute online to aid in recovery, with donations facilitated by the Annenberg Foundation overseeing distribution of support.

Los Angeles is not only standing together in the face of adversity, but thriving in its music heritage, showcasing the power and resilience of community through the arts. As the city begins to recover, the FireAid concert serves as both a powerful remembrance and a hopeful catalyst for rebuilding efforts.
