Eight Found Guilty in Paris for the 2016 Kim Kardashian Robbery
Eight individuals, including a woman, were convicted in Paris for their involvement in the high-profile robbery of Kim Kardashian during Paris Fashion Week in 2016.
In a striking verdict delivered on May 23, 2025, a Paris court found eight defendants guilty of participating in the infamous robbery of reality TV star Kim Kardashian. This incident took place in October 2016 when Kardashian, 44, was held at gunpoint, bound with zip ties, and robbed of jewelry valued at millions of dollars during Paris Fashion Week.
The court proceedings resulted in the conviction of seven men and one woman, with sentences ranging from three to eight years. However, these sentences were predominately suspended, leading some to question their severity. Judge David De Pas noted that many of the defendants were advanced in age and suffered from various health issues, which contributed to the comparatively lenient rulings. He emphasized, however, that their actions still caused significant harm.
The case drew media attention not only for its celebrity connection but also for the unusual circumstances surrounding the accused. They were collectively dubbed the "grandpa robbers," as most of the offenders are currently in their 60s and 70s, adding an unexpected layer to one of France's most infamous celebrity heists.
Additionally, a ninth individual faced charges for illegally acquiring and possessing firearms but was not linked to the robbery itself. A tenth defendant was acquitted due to insufficient evidence for a conviction against him.
