US rapper apprehended during traffic stop, facing serious legal issues.
In the early hours of Sunday, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that the rapper Soulja Boy was arrested at about 2:35 a.m. local time in the Melrose area. The arrest occurred during a routine traffic stop where officers found him in possession of a firearm. Soulja Boy, famous for his 2007 chart-topping single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” which sparked a viral dance craze, has previously faced significant legal challenges. In a separate incident earlier this year, he was ordered to pay $4.25 million to a woman who accused him of sexual battery and abuse. The unnamed claimant alleged that the artist regularly assaulted her and at times held her against her will while she worked for him as an assistant. Soulja Boy has denied the allegations, asserting that their relationship was consensual; however, a jury in a civil trial ultimately found him liable for sexual battery, assault, and gender violence.
