An autopsy conducted on French streamer Raphaël Graven, who went by the name Jean Pormanove in the digital sphere, discovered that his death was not caused by any form of trauma. This finding was revealed by prosecutor Damien Martinelli who is leading the investigation into the incident. Graven, 46, was found deceased at a residence in Contes, a village located just north of Nice, on Monday.
While French government minister Clara Chappaz expressed her condolences, labeling Graven's death as an "absolute horror," the prosecutor reported on Thursday that medical examiners concluded there was no trauma or external intervention involved in the death. Their findings showed no evidence of internal or external traumatic injuries or burns, aside from a few minor bruises and old lesions.
According to Martinelli, the likely causes appear to be medical and potentially toxicological in nature. Further tests have been ordered to explore this theory, including the possibility that Graven may have suffered from a heart condition and had been undergoing treatment for a thyroid issue.
In the wake of this tragedy, a spokesperson for the streaming platform Kick stated they were "urgently reviewing" the circumstances that led to his passing. The investigation is thorough, with local media reporting that Graven had previously experienced bouts of violence and sleep deprivation during his streaming sessions. It is noted that he passed away in his sleep while broadcasting live.
As part of the investigation, authorities have interviewed multiple witnesses who were present at the scene when the streamer died, and crucial equipment and video footage have been confiscated to shed light on the events leading up to this unexpected tragedy.
