Light’s lawyer argues the action was a misunderstanding; Light pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors maintain that the photographs reveal the jurors’ identities, potentially compromising the integrity of the trial.
Lindsay Clancy, 36, the defendant, is charged with killing her three children. The case has attracted national and international attention and has sparked intense public debate.
During Light’s court appearance, Massachusetts officials warned that the sanctity of the justice system is at risk from her conduct. A judge has prohibited photographing or filming jurors, and Light was ordered to keep away from the courthouse grounds and anyone involved in the trial. Prosecutors requested a $50,000 bail, which the judge denied.
The Plymouth jury began deliberations on Thursday and continues to decide whether Clancy will be found criminally responsible for the deaths of her children.
