The strikes mark the 10th consecutive night of attacks. They follow President Donald Trump’s vow to punish Iran for the deaths of U.S. soldiers, saying the country would pay "many times over".
Trump earlier said Iran had been hit "very hard" the previous night "in honour" of three U.S. soldiers killed recently – two in Jordan and one in Iraq. The attacks targeted Iran’s military and communications sites.
Iran responded by citing strikes on sites in Bahrain, Jordan and Syria. President Masoud Pezeshkian declared the nation was now fighting a "full‑scale war" with the United States.
Tehran also stated that diplomatic messages were still being exchanged through intermediaries, despite the collapse of a ceasefire agreement.
Elsewhere, Jordan’s military reported shooting down three Iranian missiles that night, while Kuwait’s armed forces intercepted Iranian drones. Bahrain said drones launched by Iran had targeted its air navigation systems, though traffic remained unaffected.
Iran’s semi‑official Tasnim news agency listed cities hit by last night’s U.S. strikes, including Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Mahshahr and Bandar Imam Khomeini. Iranian state media reported two oil tankers exploding as they crossed the Strait of Hormuz.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed the tankers were in an "unsafe and hazardous southern route" of the strait and were halted after the explosions. The U.S. Central Command disputed these claims.
