At least three people were killed and more than 10 injured as Ukraine reports a new wave of Russian missile and drone strikes that hit markets and warehouses across the country.
Firefighters were fighting a blaze overnight after a missile struck a market in Kyiv, a city that said it shot down three missiles and nearly 100 drones during the attacks.
Moscow’s mayor confirmed that roughly 600 Ukrainian drones were fired at the capital, and a Wildberries warehouse 25 kilometres from the centre of the city was set on fire.
Russia has intensified its aerial attacks across Ukraine in recent weeks, while Kyiv has stepped up targeted strikes on Russian logistics hubs in an effort to disrupt military supplies.
Air‑raid sirens rang four times this week in Kyiv, where at least six people, including a child, were reportedly injured, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, officials said a guided aerial bomb destroyed a house, killing two people; in Dnipropetrovsk one person was killed and 14 injured.
Russia also suffered injuries in a Ukrainian strike in Moscow, with three people wounded, and the mayor stated that about a third of the drones launched at the city were destroyed.
Wildberries, described as Russia’s version of Amazon, has been repeatedly targeted since July; Kyiv says it is targeting logistics used by Russians to buy military equipment and to disrupt supplies to the Russian army.
