Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drones struck a displaced‑persons camp in the Blue Nile state, killing 41 people, a rights organisation reported.
The camp, located in Abu Shandi near the Ethiopian border, housed victims fleeing the protracted conflict between Sudan’s army and the RSF.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) voiced shock, noting that most of the casualties were women and children. It described the strike as “horrifying.”
The battle between the army and the RSF, which began in 2023, has displaced more than 14 million people and caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Both forces have reportedly employed drones in their operations.
Humanitarian agencies warn that the area has experienced sustained attacks for weeks, putting thousands of civilians at grave risk.
