Senegalese police have reported the arrest of 14 individuals involved in an alleged paedophile gang operating between Senegal and France. Described as a 'transnational' criminal group, the gang has reportedly been active since 2017.
According to a police statement, the group is accused of serious crimes including organized paedophilia, pimping, statutory rape, sodomy, and intentionally transmitting HIV/AIDS. Allegedly, they forced minors to engage in unprotected sex with men, many of whom were HIV-positive, and recorded these acts.
Among the accused, four are believed to have operated under the guidance of a French individual arrested in France in April 2025, with financial incentives provided through money transfers.
The suspects faced a judge following raids across various neighborhoods in Dakar and the city of Kaolack, approximately 200 km southeast of the capital. The operations, conducted in cooperation with French authorities, resulted in the seizure of items believed to be tied to their criminal activities.
The police emphasized their commitment to dismantling criminal networks targeting children and have established a hotline for the public to report any relevant information.
