The letter also claimed the body of a fourth pilot, Majid Kazemi, had been returned after he was killed during the March 2 mission.

Qatar’s response

Qatar’s foreign‑affairs spokesperson Majed Mohammed Al Ansari swiftly rejected the accusations, saying the pilots had been “captured” only after they “violated Qatari airspace.” He added that Syria’s search and rescue teams had worked “to the fullest extent in searching for the pilots’ remains.”

Al Ansari further stated Qatar had offered access to an Iranian fact‑finding team in April, a request that Tehran has yet to reply to. He emphasized Qatar was “defending its territory in accordance with international law.”
