At least 27 people have been killed in a huge fire that engulfed a Bangkok bar, Thai media have reported.


Firefighters were dispatched to the scene just after midnight, finding patrons fleeing through the flame-filled front door of the venue.


Unverified footage shows flames blasting out of the bar as one woman falls to the floor before getting back up to escape.


Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told journalists at the scene that 27 people died and several were taken to hospital, according to local media. He said the cause of the fire was still under investigation.
