A recently surfaced video reveals Israeli security forces shooting dead two Palestinians who appeared to surrender in the occupied West Bank.

The incident occurred during a military operation in the city of Jenin. In the footage, the Palestinian Authority (PA) accuses Israeli forces of committing a war crime and describes the killings as brutal field executions.

The Israeli military and police claim the deceased were part of a terror network, and the situation is currently under investigation.

Israel's far-right national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir has backed the officers involved, asserting that terrorists must die. The video shows the men exiting a building with hands raised, surrounded by Israeli border guards, before they kneel on the ground and are shot after moving back into the building.

A joint statement from the IDF and police stated the operation aimed to apprehend wanted individuals linked to previous acts of violence, including attacks on security forces. The raid aligns with Israel's ongoing military campaign aimed at combating what it describes as armed groups responsible for various assaults against soldiers and settlers in the region.

Since a significant increase in violence following the Hamas assault in October 2023, more than 1,000 Palestinians, alongside at least 44 Israelis, have reportedly lost their lives in these clashes, according to UN figures.
