Boeing and Google join a cadre of American corporations supporting the 2025 inaugural fund for President-elect Donald Trump.
In a demonstration of corporate backing, Boeing and Google have each confirmed a $1 million contribution to the inauguration fund for Donald Trump, who is set to be inaugurated for his second term on January 20, 2025. This move places the aviation giant and the tech powerhouse in the company of several other notable firms such as Chevron, Meta, Amazon, and Uber, all of which have also made donations to support the event.
Boeing spokesperson stated, "We are pleased to continue Boeing's bipartisan tradition of supporting US Presidential Inaugural Committees," highlighting their continuous support for such initiatives over the years. The company, currently addressing its own challenges related to safety and quality control, has also engaged in the construction of the next presidential aircraft, Air Force One, which is anticipated to be operational soon.
Google, on the other hand, has communicated its intent to extend the inaugural event’s reach through a global livestream on YouTube. Karan Bhatia, Google's global head of government affairs and public policy, remarked, "Google is pleased to support the 2025 inauguration, with a livestream on YouTube and a direct link on our homepage."
In addition to Boeing and Google, automotive giants such as Ford, General Motors, and Toyota have also pledged their financial support to the inaugural committee. Chevron has confirmed its participation as well, celebrating a historical tradition of bipartisan support for presidential inaugurals. Company spokesperson Bill Turene remarked, "Chevron has a long tradition of celebrating democracy by supporting the inaugural committees of both parties. We are proud to be doing so again this year."
As the inauguration day approaches, the backing of leading businesses illustrates the significant role corporate America plays in political events.
