According to reports from the NY Post, during a legal conference in Miami, Spiro is said to have flashed a badge while claiming to be the head of the Manhattan District Attorney’s "homicide bureau." That bureau does not exist, a fact pointed out by an attendee who challenged Spiro’s claims.

Additionally, Spiro is reported to have routinely used his former badge to gain unauthorized access to a restricted area of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse known as the Early Case Assessment Bureau. Former prosecutors have indicated that it is a known rule that badges should not be displayed publicly once attorney’s leave their roles. One witness mentioned seeing Spiro sitting in designated areas for police officers and prisoners even after his departure from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

At the time of these incidents, Spiro was associated with defense attorney Ben Brafman, who is currently representing Weinstein against serious allegations of sexual misconduct. Spiro's troubling past raises questions about his capability to represent high-profile clients like Jay-Z effectively.
