'Families Left Heartbroken as Make-A-Wish Disneyland Trip Canceled Due to Eurostar Disruptions'

A heart-wrenching disruption due to a World War II bomb discovery has spoilt a Make-A-Wish family's trip to Disneyland Paris, leaving them and many others in distress.

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a Make-A-Wish trip to Disneyland Paris for five-year-old Daisy Mannion was abruptly canceled due to a significant disruption in Eurostar services caused by the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb near Paris' Gare du Nord station. Toni Mannion, Daisy's mother, expressed her devastation, saying, "We're gutted." Daisy has a rare metabolic disorder called Nonketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH), which limits her ability to travel and enjoy life to the fullest.

The bomb was successfully defused on Friday afternoon, leading Eurostar's chief safety officer, Simon Lejeune, to issue an apology for the travel chaos that robbed families of precious moments. The Mannion family traveled from Birmingham to London on Thursday in anticipation of their long-awaited trip, which had been fully funded by the Make-A-Wish charity.

Toni lamented, “We were really looking forward to making some special memories with the girls. I know Make-A-Wish will look to reorganize. But it's still a bit gutting really.” This emotional rollercoaster comes amid a backdrop of confusion affecting travelers; many Britons were stranded on the wrong side of the Channel as alternative options dwindled. Vicky and her mother opted to make the best of their situation despite the chaos, choosing to extend their stay in Paris.

Martial frustrations were evident among other travelers as many took to social media to voice their grievances over the Eurostar app crashing, making it difficult for them to change travel plans or receive updates.
