Victims Unite: Zhenhao Zou's Grievous Crimes Uncovered
Two women who reported being drugged and raped by prolific sex offender Zhenhao Zou shared that the attacks happened within a short 24-hour window. Following the initial assault, one victim, Rachel, expressed distress upon learning about another attack, feeling guilt over her delayed report.
Investigation by the Metropolitan Police previously raised the possibility that both victims were the same person, given the alarming similarity and close timing of their experiences. A source close to the investigation indicated that Zou’s audacity was indicative of a predator emboldened by his previous getaways.
“He was confident, getting away with it, and thus sought to escalate his crimes,” the source remarked.
Warning: This report contains details of sexual violence.
Zou was sentenced to a minimum of 24 years in prison in June after being convicted of drugging and sexually assaulting multiple victims, extending his heinous acts across both the UK and China.
Since his trial, a further 24 women have come forward, corroborating claims of similar assaults by Zou.
One of the victims, referred to as Female D, was subjected to Zou's violence just after Rachel's incident in October 2022. After being drugged, she managed to escape her captor but continues to grapple with the psychological aftermath of the assault.
The police remain on high alert, appealing for additional victims to step forward. “The breadth of his offenses positions Zou as one of the most serious sexual predators we have encountered,” commented Det Ch Insp Tariq Farooqi.
Both women’s testimonies emphasize the crucial need for improved support systems and greater awareness surrounding sexual violence, urging others in similar situations to seek justice and help without fear.
