As climate change intensifies its grip on the world, the Pacific Island nation of Tuvalu, which consists of tiny, low-lying atolls, faces an increasingly dire situation. Australia recently announced a climate visa specifically targeted at Tuvaluan citizens, enabling them to seek refuge as their homeland grapples with rising sea levels. The visa lottery opened last week, and already, approximately half of Tuvalu's 10,000 residents have submitted applications in hopes of relocating to Australia.

Tuvalu, famous for its vibrant culture and natural beauty, is on the frontline of climate change, with predictions indicating that it could be one of the first nations rendered uninhabitable.
