US R&B star Chris Brown has been charged with grievous bodily harm following an alleged assault in a London nightclub.
On Thursday, the 36-year-old artist was arrested at a hotel in Manchester and is being held in custody, set to appear in Manchester Magistrates' Court on Friday. Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, Adele Kelly, confirmed that the charge is in accordance with section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, emphasizing that the criminal proceedings are active and that Brown is entitled to a fair trial. Currently, the singer is on tour and has several scheduled shows in the UK for June and July.
