Norway’s Princess Ingrid Alexandra is set to transition to Australia for her university education, having enrolled in a degree program at the prestigious University of Sydney. Living on campus in student accommodation, Princess Ingrid Alexandra will fully immerse herself in university life. Her grandfather, King Harald, and her father, Crown Prince Haakon, are reportedly supportive of her decision. A statement from the royal household stated, "Her Royal Highness looks forward to dedicating herself to her studies in the years to come."
Excited by the royal’s arrival, Kirsten Andrews, vice-president of the University of Sydney, expressed her eagerness to welcome the princess. "We know how valuable the campus experience is and we hope the Princess makes the most of our beautiful grounds and surrounds, clubs and societies, as well as our proximity to the best Sydney has to offer," she said.
Raised in Oslo, Princess Ingrid Alexandra recently concluded her military service, where she served for 15 months as an engineer soldier and rifleman. Notably, she shares her interest in environmental protection and climate change, which are highlighted in her biography on the royal family’s website, indicating her commitment to global issues.
