Mayor Vittoria Fernandi recently issued a heartfelt apology on behalf of the city, acknowledging that the film production has stirred up difficult memories and emotions among the community. Highlighting the need for dignity and respect for both the victim and the city, one resident prominently hung a sheet from a balcony declaring “Respect for Meredith” in bright red letters. Meanwhile, some local officials are questioning the decision to allow filming in a city that deserves recognition for its "history, art and beauty."
