In a hopeful medical update from the Vatican, it has been confirmed that Pope Francis is showing signs of improvement after struggling with pneumonia for two weeks. Despite the encouraging news, the 88-year-old pontiff will remain hospitalized due to a complex medical situation. A statement released on Friday indicated that the Pope had a "peaceful night" and is now resting comfortably.

Pope Francis was originally admitted to the hospital on February 14, following several days of breathing difficulties. Initially diagnosed with bronchitis, his condition later progressed to pneumonia affecting both lungs. On February 22, the Vatican reported that the Pope had experienced a respiratory crisis and was in a critical state. However, updates from the Vatican shortly thereafter suggested that he had not suffered from any additional respiratory episodes.
